Robert W. "Bob" Davis

He graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, VA with his Bachelor’s Degree. Bob worked at Potomac Electric Power Company in VA for 11 years before transferring to Duke Power Company in Charlotte. He retired with Duke after 28 years.

Mr. Davis served his church faithfully. He was an adult Sunday School teacher, former treasurer of United Methodist Men and worked with the youth at Cross Connection. He was inspired and loved by his church family. Bob also went on several mission trips in the states and to Africa.

But most of all he was a true family man. He coached his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in sports. The Braves and Redskins were two of his favorite teams.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Davis and mother, Thelma Barnell; stepmother, Mary Davis and son-in-law, David Baugh.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ginny Davis; children, Dave Davis, Barbara Baugh and Jimmy Davis; grandchildren, Ann Michelle Baugh, Abbie Hawks (Dirk), Josh Baugh (Jami), and Cody Davis; great grandchildren, Addison Baugh, Damian Ramirez, McKenna Luther, and Amelia Baugh; niece, Kathy Ellis (Charlie) and nephew, Steve Dillard (Karen).

A memorial service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 12th of September, 2016 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Rd., Charlotte, NC with a visitation held one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church or to a donor of your choice.
