Robert C. "Bob" Craft

Born July 13, 1937 In Beacon, NY, Bob was a son of the late Clarence Craft and Angelia Bottine Popovich. He was raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he attended public school.

Bob joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956, where he remained for four years. After moving to Charlotte, he joined the Army Reserves, and proudly served for 24 years. Bob was a former member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Ritter Craft; his daughter, Cynthia Craft Hughes; his father-in-law, Charles Ritter; his sister-in-law, Lynda Brewer and husband, Smokey; his sister-in-law, Dianne Greene and husband, Thomas; and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 20, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint-Hill Road, with the Reverend Chris Hermansen officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Geoffrey Chapman and his office staff. They also would like to express appreciation to the Harris Hospice Unit staff at Presbyterian Hospital.
