He was born on July 19, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, to Henry and Anne Schwarz.
He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Schwarz worked for Canteen Food and Vending in Charlotte for thirty-five years. He then drove a shuttle bus at Charlotte Douglas International Airport until three years ago.
Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Ruth Burtnett Schwarz, Charlotte; three sons, Glenn Schwarz and Judy Thompson and Greg (Pam) Schwarz, all of Charlotte; and Mike (Rosemary) Schwarz, Brunswick, OH; his sister, Lois (Eddie) Miller, Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren, Amber and Brittany Schwarz and Timmy Gordon and his son, Blake.
His family will receive friends on Monday, Mar.5, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 6, 2012, followed by interment in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, Charlotte. The Reverend Jason Schubert will officiate.
