Charlotte, NC-Raymond Earl Newton, 70 passed away Monday afternoon, November 14, 2016 at CMC-Main .
A lifelong native of North Carolina, Raymond was born January 3, 1946, a son of John Grady Newton and Texie Lail Newton and was raised in the town of Drexel and last lived in Charlotte with his wife of 45 years.
A pilot and veteran of the US Navy, he graduated with a Batchelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from NC State and was last employed by Yaskawa America Inc. as the regional sales manager.
Surviving is his wife, Sandra Newton and son, Craig Newton.
Services are planned for 2:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at McEwen Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262. Friends may visit Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
