Pat was born on March 12, 1946, in Chillicothe, OH, to Hudson and Marie (Canavotto) Jayne. He served his country in the United States Navy (Seabee). He received a degree from The Ohio State University and owned a business in Charlotte, NC.
Pat loved life and made the most of each day. A trip to Costco always turned into a hilarious outing. He was known for his quick wit, and he could talk to anyone about anything. He loved meeting new people. Pat had a passion for history and music and stories, some factual and others not so much, which he would draw out to the most hilarious conclusions. A man of many words, his joy was found in the telling.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Hudson and John; and his first wife, Janet. He is survived by his wife, Kay; his two children, Erin and Jonathan; his son-in-law, Jason; his beloved grandchildren, Camryn and Holden; his siblings, George, Lorena, Nancy, Roberta, and Patsy; and his faithful dog, Daisy.
Pat was truly a great man whose impact will forever be felt by the family that loves him dearly and knows that they will see him again. A private service will be held in the fall.
