Nancy Hamilton

Nancy graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her family and her church. She met the love of her life at the Oakdale Square dance in 1961. They were married shortly after and raised a wonderful family together. There were many trips to the Carolina coasts. Her faith was an important part of her life and she stressed the importance of sharing her gifts with others as a good steward of God's blessings. These beliefs have been generously shared with her family and those around her. Her friendly smile, kind personality, and polished style will be greatly missed by all who had an opportunity to know her.

Nancy is survived her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Hamilton; her children, Robert Hamilton Jr (Melissa), Jennifer Canipe (Scott), and Tiffany Hamilton; her grandchildren, Brittany Farr (Jake), Sarah Bright (Chris), Robert S. Hamilton, Rachel Hamilton, and Jared Canipe; her great-grandchildren, Samuel Farr, Jovie Farr, Whitson Farr, and Harrison Bright; her mother, Katherine Funderburk; her brother, Jack Funderburk; and many other nieces, nephews, and loving extended family members.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at MorningStar Presbyterian Church, 13000 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
