Nancy Lee Auten, eighty-eight of Charlotte, NC, passed into eternal life on November 8. 2024. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceding her in death was her mother, Fannie Lee Elliott; father, Leighton Edward Elliott, and brother, Douglas Elliott. Nancy leaves a legacy through her beloved husband of sixty-eight years, Donald Eugene Auten, son, Danny Auten (Kim Auten); daughter, Terry Holsinger (David Holsinger); grand- children, Brian Auten, Samantha Auten, and Nicole Price (Ron Price); great-grandchildren, Skylar Braun, and Hayden Braun.
Nancy worked in the printing industry, retiring from Interstate Johnson Lane. She was the first female commercial letter press operator in Charlotte, having great coordination, artistic abilities, and attention to detail.
Nancy was known by all who knew her for her green thumb and love for life. She always found great joy in expressing her ever-caring nature through tending flowers and gardening, along with drawing and crocheting. Nancy cherished her family, as much as they did her. No one could make a Sunday dinner as delicious as Nancy would serve her family. Nancy's strength and unifying love was one to be venerated.
Just like her flowers, Nancy was part of God's plan. When it was time, He reached down His hand. He looked through the garden searching for the best. That's when He found her. It was her time to rest. Now we must wait for our spot in God's Garden, and find peace knowing she's in the best place of all and will be there waiting for us when our time comes.
John 14:1-3
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you myself, that where I am you may be also."
A graveside service for Nancy will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6230 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216.
