Miriam was born on September 13, 1943 in Bakersville, NC, to the late Edward and Mildred Dellinger. She graduated from Bakersville High School in 1960 and completed her associate degree at Central Piedmont Community College.
Miriam married Raymond Lamb, and they were blessed with 20 years of marriage prior to his death in 1984. They were faithful members of Grace Baptist Church in Charlotte where she enjoyed playing on the softball team.
Miriam spent her career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System in the Superintendent's Office. She truly loved working there. Many will remember her as a "people person". Someone who never met a stranger, and her strong attention to detail.
In her free time, Miriam treasured working in her yard and spending time with her family.
Miriam was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Raymond Lamb, granddaughter, Jenna Page, and siblings, Cletis Lynch and Arthur Dellinger.
She leaves behind her children, Stephen Lamb (Gisselle) of Brandon, FL, Mildred Page (Jeff) of Charlotte, NC, Sylvia Turnmire (Bryan) of Taylorsville, NC, and Cathy Altman Lamb of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Caitlyn Woolbright (Jordan), Caleb Lamb (Dani), Blake Page (Melly), Austin Page (Hannah), Lauren Barefield (Cameron), Christen Smith (Brian), Cameron Turnmire (Allison), and Ashlyn Turnmire; as well as great-grandchildren Elena, Jack, Cyrus, Jillian, Calia, Elliott, Raelle, Cassidy, Addison, Beckham, Verity, Jake, Molly and two on the way.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227.
