Mrs. Freeman, 96, Of Charlotte passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11am at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. Jay Weigel officiating.
Minnie Lee was born October 8, 1925 in Huntersville, NC, daughter of the late John and Mary Hunter Kerns. Mrs. Freeman was a long time member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Trinity Sunday School class. She grew up in the Huntersville area and graduated from Long Creek High School in 1942. Minnie went to work at Southern Bell and later Delmar Studios. Minnie Lee married John William Freeman in 1947, and made their home in Charlotte. Mr. Freeman passed away on April 1, 2008.
Survivors include her son Barry Freeman and friend, Betsy Walker of Charlotte; daughter Myra Huntley of Charlotte; two grandchildren, David Huntley and his wife, Kara of Fort Mill, SC and Dana Burrell and her husband, Mark of Rock Hill, SC; five great grandchildren Kalyn and Noah Huntley, Ryan, Caspian and Elizabeth Burrell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 4019 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
Arrangements for the Freeman family have been entrusted to McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
