Mrs. Langford, age 90 of Matthews, passed away Saturday August 6, 2011 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. She was born July 22, 1921 in Lexington County South Carolina daughter of the late Calvin T. and Alice Steadman Taylor. Mrs. Langford was a former member of Enderly Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 28 years and was also church hostess, a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, now a member of First Baptist Church of Matthews, and worked in the cafeteria at Olympic High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Vance Langford, a sister, 3 brothers and a grandchild. Mrs. Langford was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful cook. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Sharon Memorial Park conducted by Reverend A. J. Thomas. Mrs. Langford is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Blackwelder of Matthews, Rena Freeman and husband Jay of Alexis, NC. son Richard Vance Langford, Jr. of Charlotte, 9 grand children and 18 great-grandchildren.
