Mary Montague Hutchison

Mrs. Hutchison was a native of Charleston, SC and was born on November 26, 1926. She was the daughter of Allen Fairfax Montague and Sarah Hampton Lindsey Montague.

Mrs. Hutchison was the wife of the late Robert Stuart Hutchison Jr. to whom she married in 1950.

Mary graduated from Central High School in Charlotte, NC. She attended Armstrong Junior College in Savannah, Georgia.

Mary will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She loved nature and all animals, especially all the pets she had in her lifetime. Mary loved her gardens and watching the many birds in her beautiful yard. She especially liked to watch old movies. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the times they were able to share together.

Mary was the sister of the late Nancy Browne of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Hutchison Johnson of Margate, FL; her sons, Robert Stuart Hutchison III of Charlotte, NC and Tyler Nye Hutchison (Nirado) of Asheville, NC; her granddaughter, Sarah Emily Demaine (Mike) of Coral Springs, FL; her great-grandson, Vincent Stuart Demaine of Coral Springs, FL; her brother, Allen Fairfax Montague of Malvern, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Elmwood Cemetery, 700 W 6th St, Charlotte, NC.
