Born to the late Richard and Susie Stillwell on November 16th, 1939, she was born and raised in Huntersville, NC with her late brother Robert Stillwell.
She worked for Hawthorne Nursing Center as a nurse for 17 years and did home healthcare for numerous years and loved her patients very much.
She was preceded in death by Thomas Smith, Terry Smith, Cindy Smith and her husband James Smith.
Margaret is survived by her children, Susan Smith of Gastonia, Gary Smith of Florida, Cathy Smith of Lowell, whom she lived with, and Donna Kuykendall (Craig) of Gastonia; grandchildren, Sharon Smith of Sparta, Jennifer Maldonado (Royalandria) of Hawaii, Brandon Kuykendall, Caitlyn Kuykendall and Caden Kuykendall of Gastonia; and great grandchildren, Tiffany Baker, Isabella and Hunter Jeffcoat.
Margaret never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She’ll be remembered for her love of ice cream, word search puzzles, and her baby dolls.
A special thank you to Mary Lovingood for her care and compassion to our mother over the last few months. She loved her as her own mother.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. The service is to be conducted at 1:00pm in the Paul Helton Chapel at the funeral home, with Pastor John Ray to officiate. The committal service will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
