Frank was born in Montford Cove, NC on August 30, 1935 to the late, Ed and Pearl Moore.
Frank drove an 18-wheeler for Ryder P.I.E. for over 32 years. After retirement Frank spent his time tinkering on his vintage trucks, listening to classic country music in the garage, and piddling in the yard. He enjoyed visiting the local flea markets and car shows, and never missed his daily breakfast at Bojangles with the other local seniors. Frank was known for his captivating story-telling, mesmerizing blue eyes, extensive collection of trucker hats, and exceptionally giving heart.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joann, with their five children, Michael Moore (Patsy Baker), Gary Moore (Laurie Greene), Kevin (Lisa) Moore, Sandy (Chris) McManus, and Lisa (Robbie) Scarboro; grandchildren, April (Travis) Haywood, Allen (Jessica) Moore, Christon Moore, Nicole (Brad) Macon, Frank (Shannon) Moore, Ben (Kayla) King, Brooke King, Melissa (Grant) Huether, Cameron McManus (Brad Brooks), and Bryson McManus; and 22 great grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Austin; sister, Marjorie; daughter-in-law, Teresa Moore; and grandson, Garren.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6th from 1:00 - 2:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint HIll Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227. Memorial services will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel.
