She was born on October 10th, 1943 in Columbus, OH to the late Delbert Gordon Beckner and Mary Marie Smith.
Though Linda lived in a few different places over the course of her life, she spent her first 30 years in Columbus and lived in Charlotte for many years as well. She worked as a Secretary for the city’s Charlotte Engineering Department for a time and later opened and ran her own National Builder Supply location.
As a passionate animal lover, she rescued and fostered countless animals over the years, and she even started her own non-profit organization, Linda’s Animal Rescue Center (A.R.C.). Linda was compassionate, strong, and independent, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
To honor Linda’s wishes, there will be no services held. Donations may be made in her name to the A.S.P.C.A., The Humane Society of Charlotte, or to an animal charity of your choice.
