He was born July 9, 1959 in Fayetteville, NC, the son of Helen Reaves Barbee Blaisdell of Matthews, NC and the late Frank Delvert Barbee of Fayetteville, NC.
Kenneth graduated from Hillsboro Street School, Class of 1980. Kenneth resided in Fayetteville until 2018, when he then moved to Charlotte, NC.
Kenneth always showered his family with love and frequently expressed it. He loved his food, especially banana pudding. Special Olympics was a highlight in his life for many years, and he proudly wore every medal he earned annually. Equally passionate was his love for the American flag and all things patriotic. With his own breath lovingly blowing a small flag in hand to mimic a wispy breeze, he literally wore out flag after flag. Never to worry though, because there was always another waiting for his gentle grasp and adoring eyes.
Kenneth is not here with us anymore, but we have a lifetime of special memories of our sweet “Kenny-Ren”. We know there was a great celebration in heaven when he joined his Dad, Mommie, Grandmama, Aunts, Uncles and cousins who precede him.
Kenneth is survived by his mother; Helen and stepfather, Arthur Blaisdell, Sister; Kimberly Salmon (Bobby), Brother; Kevin Barbee (Marilyn), and Brother; Keith Barbee (Amanda). Aunt Louise, Aunt Lola (Bob), Aunt Clara, niece; Morgan (Byambison) and nephews; Jordan and Tyler (Jessica) a great niece, a great nephew, and many loving cousins.
A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 at 2:00pm at Matthews United Methodist Church.
