Kathryn Kitty K. Doss Karnes Parrish

Kitty was born March 14, 1930 in Bedford, VA. The daughter of Jake and Pearl Karnes, the ninth of ten children, she has lived in Charlotte since 1962. She retired from the Miller Orthopedic Clinic, loved fishing and cheering on her favorite NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. Following a stroke 6 ½ years ago she has resided at the Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg.

Kitty was preceded in death by her husband Richard Doss, four brothers, three sisters and son-in-law, Jeff Turner. She is survived by husband John Parrish, son Sam Barker (Nina) of Cross Creek, FL, daughters; Sheree D. Marre’ (Mitch) of Huntersville and Linda D. Turner of Harrisburg, sisters; Virginia K. Martin and Frances K. Bobbitt (Ernie) of Bedford, VA, grandchildren; Shannon B. Pierce, Shawn Barker, Casey M. Cheek, Jody M. Kurtz (Matt), Carly and Mark Marre’, Shannon, Bailey and Cannon Turner and great-grandchildren; Zack, Joe and Kathryn.

A celebration of Kitty’s life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, April 25 at Laurel Baptist Church in Charlotte with Brother Lee Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
