Katherine E. Coffey

A graduate of Harding High School, Katherine went on to further her education at Kings Business School.

She was a member of Lafayette Baptist Church in Fayetteville were she cared for the babies in the church nursery. Her career consisted of working for her father as the Chief Maintenance Director secretary at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. After the untimely death of her father, Katherine and her mother started an in-home daycare for minor children. Years later Katherine became the sole caretaker for her mother during her journey with Dementia. She then elected to become a caretaker for others outside of the home after the passing of her mother.

Katherine was heavily involved in her church enjoying many trips and attending special events. She also spent a lot of her time playing board games and cards with her girlfriends while crafting santa clauses and other crafts with her mother as a side business.

An avid and devoted follower of Christ, Katherine studied the word of God daily and constantly prayed for family and friends who were dear to her.

Survivors include her brother, John (Mary) L. Coffey Jr.; niece, Karen Brown; great-nephew, Taylor Brown; great-niece, Savannah Brown; and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Floyd Coffey.

Funeral service 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Visitation 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
