Devin was born on September 22, 1979 in Greenwich, Connecticut to Mr. & Mrs. Edward Haley. Devin believed Jesus lived to bring eternal life to all and he will be greatly missed by his friends and family until they are reunited again. They are comforted by knowing Devin’s past few years were filled with many personal accomplishments in life. Like many, the isolation of Covid-19 took a toll on Devin and his recovery. He will be remembered for his valiant effort to fight an unrelenting disease that held him back from his potential.
Devin had many years of success. Devin attended boarding school at Woodberry Forest, graduating cum laude, before going on to attend the University of Virginia also graduating cum laude with a degree in business. He was a member of Pi Kaapa Alpha fraternity and was among the very few chosen to live on the lawn. Upon graduation Devin returned to Charlotte, North Carolina where he began his career at Bank of America and Wells Fargo working in the financial markets.
Those who knew Devin early in life knew he loved the outdoors and fly-fishing and hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains. Devin’s family remembers his sweetness and kindness to others. His sense of humor and love of family could not be mistaken.
Devin is survived by his parents Edward and Patricia Haley; older brother Ted Haley, Jr. and sister-in-law, Suzanne Haley; younger brother Jamie Haley; and two nieces, Camilla Haley and Sloane Haley, who both adored their uncle Devin.
A private Mass for family will be held on Wednesday, May 26th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
