Joanne was privileged to grow up in a Christian home and at an early age gave her life to Jesus Christ. Joanne graduated from West Charlotte Senior High School in 1969. She also attended Central Piedmont Community College. Joanne will always be remembered by her passion for her children and grandchildren, her positive attitude and her contagious smile. She consistently instilled in her loved ones their potential to do great things and reminded them daily of the power of prayer. Her sparkling personality, original quotes and infamous sayings will never be forgotten.
A hard worker from the beginning, Joanne devoted 39 years of service to Dudley Products. She held various roles within the company. She began as a door-to-door sales representative and then became a Tele-Seller and Salon Manager. Later, she continued her career as a Distributor selling Dudley’s products in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and throughout North and South Carolina. Through her successful career with Dudley’s she created long lasting friendships, touched many hearts and changed many lives. Citing the words of Mr. Joe L. Dudley “I am, I can and I will! Joanne inspired cosmetologist across the country. Joanne “The One and Only” was admired by everyone who knew her. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur “Pete” and Alberta McClain, her husband, Robert Louis McCullough and her brother, Larry McClain.
Joanne leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Eric D. McClain, Dallas, NC., and Robert L. McCullough (Beth), Charlotte, NC.; one daughter, Renisha M. Lattimore (Joseph) Charlotte, NC.; her wonderful grandchildren, Sanetra Craig (Robert), Charlotte, NC., Chasity Parson, High Point, NC.; Jalen McCullough, Raquell McCullough, Charlotte, NC., Robert “RJ” McCullough, Jr., Camden, NJ.; Zoie Lattimore and Robert “Tre” McCullough, III, Charlotte, NC.; ten precious great grandchildren, one niece, Chaunda McClain Battle, Laurel, MD.; brother-in-law Donnie and Kent McCullough, Charlotte, NC.; and sister-in-law Marjorie McCullough, Fayetteville, NC.; special friends, Genea Dudley-Gidey, Annie Higgins, David Elliott and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends and special friends; Genea Dudley-Gidey, Annie Higgins, David Elliott, her Dudley Products family and the customers that she serviced.
The family will receive friends at the visitation on Sunday, July 30 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at University Park Baptist Church, 6029 Beatties Ford Rd Charlotte, North Carolina. A second visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte, North Carolina.
