Jean Flowers Wright

Mrs. Jean Flowers Wright went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2013 after an unfortunate fall. She passed peacefully surrounded by many family members who loved her dearly. Jean was born in Charlotte, NC on January 18, 1929 daughter of Howell D. and Clara B. Flowers. She retired from long career as a secretary at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was a devoted member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class and the Gospel Choir. Everyone that knew Jean was touched by her kindness and gentle ways. She was a devoted grandmother, sister and aunt as well as an inspiration to many. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Frank D. Wright and their daughter Vicki Wright Mintich. She is survived by her sister Helen F. Grice, son-in-law Mark Mintich and wife Beth, granddaughter Claire Mintich, grandsons William and Jack Mintich of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held on Monday September 16th at 11 a.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, 1601 Toddville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. before the service at the church. Interment will be at Forest Lawn West following the service.
