Jean Thomas Phifer

Jean was born in Monroe NC to Bryce and Clara Thomas who were loving and kind parents. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Neil Phifer and sister Elaine Hilton. What a glorious reunion it was!

She is survived by her two children son Scott Phifer and daughter Marie Childress; a loving brother Carroll Thomas; eight grandchildren Johnathan Phifer, James Phifer, Josh Phifer, Thomas Davis, Chelsie Jones, Ashley Searles, Grant Childress and Harrison Childress and six precious great grandchildren William, Benjamin, Emma, Harper, Mirabelle and Pierce.

Jean was raised on a farm where she helped plow the fields behind a mule named Frank. Oh, the stories she could tell! When she moved to Charlotte in 1948 she worked at Scientific Beauty Salon as a beautician for many years. She was a charter member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She gladly served wherever needed. Her greatest gift was to love and serve others. No matter where she went and who she met, she was kind, loving and shared the name of Jesus to everyone.

We are so blessed that she left a legacy of godliness to her children, our children, our grandchildren and generations to come.
