Jean Illingworth Coffey, 61, of Charlotte, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Born in Mecklenburg County , she was the daughter of the late James Illingworth and Ruth Robbins Illingworth.
She worked with her husband, Doug at the family business, Coffey Body and Paint.
Jean was a best friend and a mother to many. She loved animals and horses and won many trophies in horse shows where she competed along with her daughter. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Services for Jean will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Forest Lawn West Chapel with Rev. Hart Hutchison and Mr. Chan Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 2:30.
Surviving are her husband, Doug Coffey; sons, Chris Coffey and wife Cathy, Travis Coffey; daughter, Kelley Coffey all of Charlotte; grandchildren, Taylor, Paige and Kylie Coffey and brother, Jim Illingworth also of Charlotte.
