Janet Marie Reasoner Dougherty

Janet Reasoner Dougherty of Charlotte, NC went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 20, 2011 after a yearlong battle with gastric cancer. She was born in Nashville, TN on July 27, 1958 to Thomas Hayden and Margery Ruth Reasoner of Tarpon Springs, FL. In addition to her parents, Janet is survived by her husband David Dougherty and sons Michael and Patrick. Also surviving are sisters Bonnie Mills and husband Johnnie of Tarpon Springs, FL; Linda Lutton and husband Craig of Atlanta, GA; Katrina Koscielniak and husband David of Land o’ Lakes, FL and brother Thomas Reasoner and wife Aimee’ of San Diego, CA. Janet’s passing will also leave an empty spot in the hearts of her in-laws, the extended Dougherty family.

Janet’s love for her family was her first priority. She was truly a “Soccer Mom,” attending every game when Michael and Patrick played for CCDS and other Charlotte teams. She and David enjoyed fellowship with a Life Group from Forest Hill Church and monthly cooked dinners for A Better World, associated with Christ Resurrection Church, Charlotte, NC.

Local arrangements are in care of McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC where the family will receive visitors from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 24. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Chapel.
