Jane Carter Davis

She was born on January 11, 1927 in Elberton, GA to James Martin and Merle Eavenson Carter.

Jane had a love for gardening, sewing and quilting, canning and cooking. Sunday lunches were an institution at the Davis household, where everyone would gather for her famous meals, especially for her biscuits! She was a faithful member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church since 1963 where she served 25 years in the nursery, was a member of the Rachel Sunday School Class and worked with the WMU. She will always be remembered for the love that she shared with everyone she knew.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Jenny (Cliff) Crocker, Rodney (Wanda) Davis and Tim (Dianna) Davis; grandchildren, Emily (Paul) Crocker-Underwood, Catherine (Matt) Daniels, Laura Davis, Ryan Davis, Ben (Randi) Davis, Nathan (Stephanie) Davis, Becky (Regan) Barran; great grandchildren Matthew, Ethan, Adison and Riley.

Along with her parents, her husband George Neal Davis and her sister, Saralu Jenkins precedes her in death.

A visitation will be held from five until seven o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 31st of January, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

A funeral service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 1st of February, 2016 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 4855 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28205 with Rev. Albert Leath and Rev. James Weddington officiating.

Interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
