James Allen Bridges

He is survived by his father, Charles Bridges; mother, Linda Bridges Hertzler; stepfather, Gene Hertzler; children, Allison Bridges, Ashley Nichols (Joe), and Daniel Stevens (Megan); sisters, Robin Baker (Chris) and Wanda Richardson (Ronnie); brothers, Greg Bridges and Michael Bridges (Erica); ex-wife, Sharyn Bridges Hinson; fiancé, Samantha Malone; and three grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by stepmother Linda Griffin Bridges and sister-in-law, Karen Bridges.

He graduated from Piedmont High School as a straight "A" student. In high school, James played varsity football, a member of the marching band, and a member of the Beta club.

James was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail.

He worked for ALLTEL/Windstream for 18 years as a project engineer and 10 years as a private home remodeling contractor.

James loved spending time with his family, especially at the beach. He had a heart of gold and was so kind to everyone. If he could help you in anyway he was there for you.

A memorial service for James will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James' honor to the North Carolina Heart Association.
