Jackie Smith Pressley

Jackie was employed for many years with Lowes. She enjoyed crabbing on the backwaters of the North Carolina Coast. Being from Baltimore, she enjoyed preparing seafood for her family. Jackie loved gardening, the beach and her dogs. Christmas was her favorite time, and she enjoyed her Christmas trips with her girls every year. She is especially remembered as a woman who loved the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jess Willard Smith.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Ronald Caldwell Pressley, Sr.; her children, Doug Smith, Kay Baumgarten, Lisa Carter (Tommy) and Ron Pressley, Jr. (Kelly); and her brother, Eddie Smith, Sr. (Linda).

Jackie was also “Maw Maw” to 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the chapel of Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054, with the Reverend Willie Byrd and the Reverend Rick Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Hospice & Palliative Care, Huntersville, NC.
