Mrs. Morgan was born in Harrogate, England to Mildred and Eric Slee on January 14th, 1941. Her brother, Richard Melvyn Slee, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Morgan grew up in Harrogate, England and attended the Harrogate Grammar School followed by the Harrogate College of Arts. She worked for Imperial Chemical Industries, where she met her beloved husband, David Jefferies Morgan. They started a family and spent a year living in Germany before returning to the UK. In 1978, the family left England for North Carolina where she continued raising their three children. Mrs. Morgan volunteered at the International House of Charlotte, where she oversaw the assimilation of families to the ‘Queen City.'
Mrs. Morgan had an in-depth knowledge of world history and a keen interest in current affairs. She traveled extensively and cherished time with her daughters and their families. She was a loyal friend and was well-loved by many on both sides of the Atlantic.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her devoted daughters, Gaynor Morgan and Julia Williams of Alpharetta, GA, and Tanya Stephenson of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by sons-in-law, William Williams and Brian Stephenson, and her five treasured grandchildren, Anna Vescio, Emma and Sophia Williams, and Dylan and Alexander Stephenson.
The family invites guests to celebrate Mrs. Morgan in cheerful attire at a service, in celebration of her life, to be held on Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary at Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, NC 28134 (Tel. 704-541-3463).
