Grady Lee White

He was the son of Frank and Mattie White of Blacksburg, S.C., Cherokee, County.

Preceded by his parents, grandparents, and siblings, Annie White, Lloyd White, Paul White, Lois, Bettie and Bob Wylie of Penns Grove, NJ.

Husband of Alice White of St. Marys, GA. Grady resided in Charlotte, NC for 45 years, where he retired from Estul Tool Co. as a machinist.

Grady has two daughters, Donna (Jeff) Dobbins of Lowell, NC and Angela (Carlos) Mendoza of Mint Hill, NC. Three step sons, Jerry ( Lisa) James of Temple, GA, Kevin James of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Anthony James of Daniels, WV. Grandfather to 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Grady was a member of St. Marys Church, St. Marys, GA and a long time member of Northlake Assembly of God in Charlotte, NC. He was also an advanced chess player. He loved sports, the Braves and the Clemson Tigers were his favorite teams.

His favorite saying when asked how he was doing, was always " I'm still kicking" and when he would finish his meals he'd reply " this is mighty fine chow".

Grady was a quiet gentle soul who couldn't be talked into hurrying by anyone.

A good man who loved his God, family, friends, and his home. He will truly be missed.

A visitation for Grady will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service Inc., 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at 12:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262. A committal service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
