Frank A. Stevens, age 86, passed away on May 12, 2018 in Savannah, Georgia. He was born on March 8, 1932 in Orange, NJ with the late Robert L. Stevens, his twin brother. He is preceded in death by his wife, June Sevens. Frank is the son of the late Antoinette M. (Casale) Stevens and Alton F. Stevens. Frank is survived by his daughters, Jayne (Stevens) Crane, Linda (Stevens) Hutchinson, Deborah (Stevens) Herbert and son, Timothy A. Stevens; grandchildren, Joseph Crane, Robert Crane, Jennifer Hutchinson, Andrew Hutchinson, Sean Herbert, Katie Herbert and great- grandchildren Abigail Herbert and Charlotte Herbert; son-in -laws, Henry Crane, Kurt Hutchinson and Steven Herbert.
He attended Bloomfield, NJ High School and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He not only had a long and accomplished career in engineering but he was also a gifted artist. Frank’s wood carvings are exceptional and award winning. He was also a talented painter.
Frank was a devoted husband and father to all his children. His son Timothy is severely impaired with autism. Frank was devoted to his son’s well-being into his 80’s.
A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews- Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.
A committal service will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC.
