Charlotte - Mr. Eugene Earl Spooner, 75, passed away on June 26, 2018. He was born on January 14, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Claude Barnitz Spooner and Elizabeth Johannes Spooner.
Eugene attended schools in Kansas City, MO and Charlotte, NC. His family moved to Charlotte in 1956. Eugene was a South Mecklenburg High School graduate. After finishing high school he attended Gaston College and earned an Associate Degree in Electronics. He was an accomplished electronic technician for more than 40 years. Eugene was co-owner of Edwards and Spooner TV Service and at a later date was the owner and operator of Eugene's Carry In. Eugene was a member of the Metrolina Electronic Technicians Association. He retired in 2009. Eugene was well known as an excellent electronic technician and was very knowledgeable in many subjects, one of them being world history.
Survivors are his close friends and the "Regular Coffee Drinkers of The Waffle House".
A service will be held in the garden of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, 2701 Park Rd., Charlotte, on Saturday, July 7 at 3 pm. Friends will be greeted following the service.
