Elizabeth Reers

Mrs. Reers, 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away on May 25, 2010 in Charlotte, NC. She was born on November 9, 1924 in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorthea Mason Morton; and first married to John H. Porter and the widow of Bernard Reers.

Before her retirement, she had worked as a medical secretary. Elizabeth was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader all of her life even when she lost the ability to read to herself and used books on tape. Elizabeth had many friends in Charlotte and loved to get together for a meal with them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Kendra Seidle of Charlotte; grandsons, Kenneth S. Seidle of Mill Valley, CA and Charles R. Seidle of Charlotte; sisters, Elaine Schirmer and Claudia Morton, both of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church with the Reverend Troy Ehkle officiating. Inurnment in the church columbarium will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte.
