Elizabeth S. Booth of Charlotte died on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Sardis Oaks from pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Booth was born on April 28, 1921 in Lexington, NC to Everette Carl and Martha Mariah Bean Sechrest. She had seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Booth graduated from Lexington High School and Georgia Alabama Business College in Macon, Ga. She was employed by Associated General Contractors, Dr. Wilford Smith, Ivey’s Department Store and World Book/Childcraft. She was a member of the Battle Forest Neighborhood Garden Club and the Olde Providence Civic Association.
Mrs. Booth was a former member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and in recent years a member of Myers Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fifth Dimension Sunday School Class.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Huey Booth. Mrs. Booth is survived by her son, Franklin Scott Hubbs of Granite Falls, NC and his daughter, Anna Hubbs; her daughter, Robin Booth Bigham and her husband, David, of Charlotte, NC and their children, Andrew and Meredith Bigham. She also is survived by one sister, Catherine Sechrest Howard of Indianapolis, IN.
The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff of Sardis Oaks for their wonderful care and love given to Mrs. Booth during multiple stays at Sardis Oaks.
A memorial service for Mrs. Booth will be held in the sanctuary of Myers Park Baptist Church on Thursday, July 7, at 2:00 PM. Interment in the church’s columbarium will be private.
