"Mama Dot", 91, of Charlotte, NC died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Sanford, NC on June 8, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Daisy James. Dot worked in the accounting department of Duff-Norton Company for 30 years before retiring in 1991.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Robert and her husband of 51 years, Sam Cook.
She is survived by her children, Samuel Robert Cook (Jane), Sandra Cook Osborne (Jim), Deborah Cook Stroup (Bob), Pamela Cook Ebere (John), 9 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1:00pm at Third Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jay Weigel officiating. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary 1 hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 4019 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
