Deborah Jean Thompson, 69, cherished grandmother, mother, sister, and friend, transitioned into the arms of Jesus on May 20, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 7, 1954 in Mecklenburg County to the late EC and Clara Thompson.
Deborah is survived by her sons, Scott Griffin (Lorraine) and Travis Griffin (Patricia), as well as her granddaughters, Harley and Sierra Griffin. She is also survived by her sisters; Virginia Howie, and Kathy Bramhall, and her brother Ray Thompson.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, and her spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Deborah will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, followed by Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at Mount Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 2817 Mt. Harmony Church Rd., Matthews, NC 28105.
