Davis "Wilson" Haney

Wilson graduated from Marshville High School, Marshville, NC, in 1952. He attended Catawba College in Salisbury, NC for one year before entering the U.S. Army. He met his wife at Catawba College where he was a freshman on a basketball scholarship and Martha was there with her high school glee club trying out for a State rating. He loved antique cars and had a 1957 Thunderbird. He was a member of both the Tarheel Classic Thunderbird Club and the Classic Thunderbird Club International. He was the Corporate Credit and Accounts Receivable Manager and Assistant Secretary at National Welders Supply Company for 45 years before retiring in March of 2009.

He died peacefully surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years; two sons, Jeffrey Alan Haney and Mark Lee Haney; granddaughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Haney Ciarmoli and Lauren Brittany Haney; great-grandsons, Brayden Michael Ciamoli and Landon Matthew Ciamoli; and one brother, James Lynn Haney and wife Pat. He was predeceased by three other brothers and one sister.

The funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the sanctuary of Providence Presbyterian Church, 10140 Providence Rd., Charlotte. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall.
