David Andrew Stroud

David (Dave) Andrew Stroud, 83, passed peacefully, August 16, 2023. Dave was born in High Point, NC to the late, William David Stroud and Frances Marie Mann Stroud. He attended Jamestown High School then moved on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also served in the US AIR FORCE. Dave, was employed with Mead Johnson Nutritionals for 30 years. He was a member of Waxhaw UMC.

Dave was incredibly generous of spirit. Always quick to share a joke. Dave loved singing with his choir, he sang for many, many years with the Pleasant Grove Camp Meeting Choir. He is now singing with his heavenly choir.

Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years, Polly Ann Smollar Stroud; his daughter, Ann Marie Stroud Barbrey; and his beloved granddaughter, Margaret Ann Barbrey. David is also survived by his sister, Gail Stroud Langley, of Lexington, NC, and his brother, Steven Craig Stroud of China Grove, NC. Dave had a favorite cousin that he always called “his brother”. Tommy was Dave’s best buddy. Dave is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He loved his family and friends fiercely.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
