She attended Covenant Day School in Matthews and graduated from Weddington High School. She attended UNC Charlotte and the Art Institute of Charlotte.
Courtney was loved immensely by her family and she loved them deeply in return. She loved God with all her heart, often remembering her favorite verse, Isaiah 53: 6, “We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
People who knew Courtney adored her contagious laugh, her friendly demeanor, and her heart of concern for broken people. Courtney always stood out in a crowd because she was not afraid to be herself. She remained true to the unique personality God gave her.
Courtney loved fashion and art and shared that love with others. She often gifted others with her beautiful works of art, helping many find peace and joy through it in the same way she did.
Many family members continue to cherish her memory. They include her parents Kelby and Connie Brown, her brothers Kelby Jr. and Kyler, sisters-in-law Angel Thompson Brown and Erinn Menninger Brown, niece Etta Lynn Brown, grandparents Larry and Terry Brown, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Courtney was pre-deceased by her grandparents Robert and Shirley Erickson.
