Charlotte “Susie” Nicoll Watt died peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 near her son and his family in Atlanta, GA. Born in Charlotte, NC on July 21, 1933, she was the daughter of Charlotte Rudd Nicoll and Edward William Nicoll. She was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband of 43 years, Gordon Richardson Watt, Jr., who passed away in 2000.
Susie was a graduate of Central High School, St. Mary’s College, as well as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was in the Chi Omega sorority.
Susie loved giving gifts to her family and many friends, and was active in the community. Her activities and organizations included: Charlotte Junior League, Mint Museum Auxiliary, Merri Mint Garden Club, The Charlotte Assembly, The Charlotte Country Club and The German Club. She attended Christ Episcopal Church, where she was in the Altar Guild and was a Sunday school teacher.
She loved her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, traveling, and playing different golf courses with her husband and son.
Susie is survived by her son, Gordon Richardson Watt III, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Wible Watt, and her grandchildren, Gordon Watt IV and Catherine Watt, of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Nicoll Baynard and brother-in-law, James Baynard of Greensboro, NC; nephews, Paul Rudd Baynard of Charlotte and David Nicoll Baynard of Greensboro; as well as her sister, Elizabeth Nicoll Felton, brother-in-law, Stonewall Felton, Jr., nephew, Stoney Felton III, and niece, Charlotte Ann Felton, all of New Braunfels, TX.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte on Monday, November 25th at 11 o'clock. The family will receive friends following the service in the Blue Room.
