Carolyn Taylor Allen

Carolyn Taylor Allen, 74, went quietly to meet her Lord on the evening of Wednesday, October 7, 2015, after an extended illness. She was at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, October 12, 2015 in the Chapel at McEwen Funeral Services, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC. Carolyn was born August 10, 1941 in Burke County, daughter of the late Ben Allen and Cordie Lilian Taylor. She graduated from Glen Alpine High School in 1959. She continued her education at East Carolina University where she graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She began her career teaching in the Cabarrus school system and moved to the Mecklenburg school system, where she continued to teach junior high and high school. After a teaching career of approximately 25 years, she had several successful careers in the business world including being a real estate broker, owning a travel agency, and a property rental business. She will be greatly missed. Carolyn was a great business woman. Carolyn was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. She has been a supporter of the Carolina Panthers from the beginning. Carolyn was also an avid dog lover. Carolyn is now reunited with her beloved husband and friend William (Bill) Presson and her beloved poodles Coco and Chanel. Survivors include her brother Melvin Taylor and wife Lena, her nephew Mike Taylor and wife Peggy, her niece, Vicki Taylor Leonard and husband Mark, all of Morganton, NC as well as her two great nieces Lauren Nicole Taylor also of Morganton and Tiffany Michelle Taylor of Wrightsville Beach.

. She is also survived by her beloved dog Tiffany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mecklenburg Humane Society or Mt Olive Baptist Church, 5388 Mount Olive Church Rd, Morganton, NC 28655.
