Carl was born May 25, 1935 in Akron Ohio and moved to Charlotte in 1938. He was a Boy Scout leader at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church during the 1970’s, which he enjoyed immensely and always thought was his personal calling from the Lord. Carl was a Navy veteran, stationed in Charleston South Carolina from 1955 to 1959. He was married to Nancy Gruber in 1956 in Charlotte North Carolina until her passing in 2019 whom he loved & cherished very much. Carl worked at Hill Electric in Charlotte for over 25 years and also worked for the Charlotte Housing Authority for 10 years, later becoming self-employed with his own side business. He had a strong faith in the Lord and faithfully read his Bible every day. Known by all who met him he was a humble, kind, and gentle patient man who always had a cheerful disposition.
He is survived by his three children, daughter Deborah Boston(John), daughter Barbara Raver(Cary), and son Steven Sweitzer; sisters Janet Vann and Sandy Reynolds (Don); two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
