She was born on May 7, 1935 in Belmont, NC to Lonnie and Essie Baucom. She had two brothers, Johnny and Perry; and three daughters, Rebecca Joanne Weeks and her husband, Lewis, Susan Elizabeth Anthony and her husband, Keith, and Lois Dee Webb and her fiancé, Mark. She had many grandchildren and a lot of great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Essie; and her former husband, Cecil Marion Davis.
Her first job was with N.G. Speirs, where she helped other people get mortgages to buy a home. She stayed in that field until she retired. Her hobbies were bowling and, when she was able, volunteering at The Vine. She really enjoyed the people coming over and calling her from The Vine.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Friday, August 20th at The Vine United Methodist Church, 2101 Belvedere Avenue in Charlotte. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, August 20th at the church where Rev. Dr. Susan Heafner-Heun is to officiate. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to The Vine United Methodist Church.
