Anne R. Sellers

Anne Richardson Sellers of Matthews, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Anne was born in Charlotte, a daughter of the late Horace Jonathon (Buck) Richardson and Ellen Dean Richardson on December 28, 1936. Anne attended Central High School and UNCG, and was married to Wilbur Kelly (Dub) Sellers, also of Charlotte.

Anne graduated from Central High School, Class of 1955, and went from there to UNCG Women’s Business School. From there, she began her secretarial career, which culminated with a 30-year stint at Midrex Technologies, Inc., where she served her last 10 years as Executive Secretary. Anne kept fast friends from her days at Midrex and continued to enjoy her monthly luncheon reunions with the Central Class of 1955. She loved her community where she and Dub ended up over 20 years ago, and eagerly awaited the time of day when she could pass out treats to the 4-legged residents. Anne and Dub loved their furry children, and their beloved Lucy was a constant companion for many years. Anne was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Charlotte.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, W.K. (Dub), and sister, Deane Richardson Jones. She is survived by her niece, Ellen Deane Jones Brans (Gordon); nephew, Thomas C. Jones (Farley); great nieces, Abigail Deane Brans and Natalie Marie Brans, and great nephew, Robert Dalton Brans; life-long friend Joan King Hargett; and many other wonderful friends.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023 beginning at 1pm. A celebration of Anne's life will follow at 2pm. Interment will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, with a reception following.
