Andrew Blease Shaw Jr.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church, Locust, NC, with Reverend Charlie Littlejohn officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Shaw was born November 25, 1934 in Winnsboro, SC, a son of the late Andrew Blease Shaw, Sr. and Lily Mae Brown Shaw. Mr. Shaw formerly served with the Mecklenburg County Police Department and later retired with twenty-eight years of service from Pilot Freight Carriers. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Shirley A. Watts Shaw; children, William Terry Shaw, Thomas Eugene Shaw, Steven Wesley Shaw, Cynthia Ann Hare, Tina Ann Hall, Trina Ann Huneycutt; brother, Paul Shaw; father-in-law, Ernest Clayton Watts, Sr.; brother-in-law, Ernest Clayton Watts, Jr.; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and by his “pride and joy” his companion dogs, Bo, Sailor, and Max.
