Mr. Guin, 55 of Charlotte, NC passed away unexpectedly at home and went to be with the Lord on July 8th, 2010. Born on November 8th, 1954 in Charlotte, Allen is the beloved son of Allen Lester Guin, Jr and Linda Coulter Guin. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Allen L. and Louise Christopher Guin, Fred Garland and Carrie Alice Rhoney Coulter; and niece, Carrie Anne Holland.
In addition to being survived by his parents, he is the precious brother of Alinda Guin Holland Pierce and husband, Ray, Cynthia Guin Furnari and husband, Vincent, Fred Christopher Guin and wife, Patricia, Cherri Marie Guin and fiancé Jerry Propst; nephews, Haydn Stewart Hasty, Jr. and wife, Michelle, Andy Stephen Holland, Jeffrey Coulter Holland, Christopher Allen Guin, Michael Coulter Guin, Christian Paul Furnari and niece, Hayley Hasty LeSeur and husband, Daniel.
Allen attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, graduated from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Ga and attended Western Carolina University. He worked in the family business, Two Way Radio of Carolina, Inc. and spent his later years selflessly care giving for his parents. Allen was tenderhearted, caring and devoted. His family is ever grateful for his sacrifice of time and love, and thank him for honoring his parents in such a way.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him including his parent’s other caregivers, Hattie Cloud, Maggie Hill and Wanda Burkes.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Harry & Bryant Company, “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte, with the Reverend Stan Heiser officiating. Entombment will follow in the family estate at Sharon Memorial Park. The Guin family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
