Nancy was just 3 weeks short of her 96th birthday when she completed life’s journey in the care of Hubbard House in Charleston, WV. Nancy, known as Betheleen to many, was born on April 3, 1920. She was daughter of the late Daniel Webster and Evaleanor Pauley Hunt and was the sister of Hazel Evelyn Cart . She was married to Orville G. Facemyer for 70 years prior to his death and the two resided in and raised their family around the Charleston area.
Nancy was a teacher. She taught at West Sattes Elementary School for 35 years and following retirement continued to substitute teach until the age of 85. Nancy was loved by her students and colleagues alike. She looked for the potential in each child and nurtured it.
Nancy was also a musician. She played both piano and organ, and was a lifelong minister of music for the Advent Christian Church and served as an officer for state wide and national offices of the denomination. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Clendenin Advent Christian Church.
Nancy’s special loves were her faith and her family. She is survived by her sons, Daniel D. (Diana M.) Facemyer of Loudon, Tennessee, Orville Jerry (Gloria C.) Facemyer of Kings Mountain, NC; and daughter Janice F. (Henry C.) Bowen of Charleston, West Virginia. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Todorovich officiating. Visitation will be held from twelve o’clock noon until service time.
Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, Saint Albans where she will once again join the love of her life, her husband Orville.
