Howard T. Forbes, Jr. 82, of Charleston, passed away on March 22, 2016. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 3, 1933 to the late Howard T. and Pansy Marie (Meadows) Forbes. Howard was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Sergeant First Class, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He was with Company B 46th Armored Medical Corp. Howard was employed with Smith Transfer with 25 years of service, and later retiring from Carolina Freight, Atlanta Georgia, with 10 years of service. He was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Vivian Forbes of Charleston; children, Pamela Forbes Smith of St. Petersburg, Flordia, Beverly (Robert) Forbes Foster of St. Albans, Joe(Rene’) Forbes of Tornado; Grandchildren, Amber Hughes, Megan Hughes, Sara Smith, Cassandra Forbes, Joey Forbes, Cory Smith; and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Roseanne Lipsch of Hastings, Michigan and Daisy Chisholm of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and his fur baby, Boo. Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Mr. Howard T. Forbes, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at McKinnon Presbyterian Church, 4278 Washington St. West, Charleston WV 25313 with Pastor Doug Minnerly officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home.
