Rick graduated from Cameron High School and the University of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. During his career, he was the Plant Manager for various thread manufacturing facilities.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Kopp Stroman; 3 daughters, Patricia Roland (Christopher), Kimberly Ferguson (James), Shannon Nickens (Norbert); 6 grandchildren, Lauren Whisenhunt (Connor), Erin Roland, Kevin Nickens (McKenna), Sara Ferguson, Eric Nickens, Elizabeth Ferguson; 2 great-grandchildren, Wellslee Whisenhunt, Owen Nickens; and brother, James Stroman (Sandra).
He was predeceased by his mother and father; sister, Dorothy Stillinger; brother-in-law, Billy Stillinger; and his much loved dog, Mollie.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 7.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (195 Amicks Ferry Rd, Chapin, SC 29036) or Chapin Branch Public Library (129 NW Columbia Ave, Chapin, SC 29036). With either, please indicate the memorial is in memory of Richard Stroman.
