Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth, and his children, Randi (Anthony) Valenti Jr. of Gilbert, AZ; Renee Lightcap (Mark) of Dupont, WA and Rhonda (Craig) Espinoza of Pueblo, CO. He has seven grandchildren, Robert Storms, Sara Lightcap, Taylor Lightcap, Caeley Valenti, Jianna Valenti, Ashleigh Espinoza, and Kyleigh Espinoza, two great grandchildren Ryan J. Gonzales and Xander G. Storms. Bob is survived by his two sisters, Sharon (Edmund) Schoen of Addison, IL. and Sandra (Frank) Cosentino of Elk Grove Village, IL. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was an Eagle Scout, he proudly served his country in the Marine Corps, an Atomic Veteran, having participated in Operation Dominic, and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. After his military service Bob was a decorated member of the Chicago Police Department. Moving to Colorado in 1981 he was the owner of a KOA Kampground for some time before he went back to his first love, law enforcement. He worked for the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, leaving there to work for, and retire from, the Department of Corrections as a Lieutenant. After retirement Bob and Ruth became snowbirds, spending their winters in Arizona that became home in 2016.
