Marie R. LePore (née Mary Remo) passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 104. Mary was born in Westmoreland, New York, on December 28, 1918, to William and Anna Remo. The family moved to Richeyville, Pennsylvania, where she lived with her four brothers, Alexander, William, John, Paul, and two sisters, Helen and Theresa.
On December 30, 1943, Marie Remo married Pat R. LePore in Washington, Pennsylvania. After her husband was discharged from the U.S. Navy, Pat and Marie relocated to Elyria, Ohio. Marie loved to go dancing with her husband and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians.
For many years, she worked for local retail stores as a Drapery Seamstress out of her home and would professionally hang every drape herself. She was a member of St. Jude Church and the VFW Auxiliary, made quilts for charity with a local group, and participated in bake sales and rummage sales at St. Jude’s. She was a very good cook and decorator, and put her heart in everything she did. Marie was the family caregiver and always helped anyone in need.
Marie is survived by her son Dennis W. LePore of Chandler, Arizona, and her daughter Patricia L. LePore of Novato, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat LePore, in 2005, as well as her parents, William and Anna Remo.
A private celebration of life will be held for family in Chandler. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Marie's memory to Stillwater Ministries, website: https://stillwaterslambs.com/get-involved; or By the Bay Health (Hospice), website: https://bythebayhealth.org
