Leona was born on January 23, 1932, the ninth of 11 children to Leonard and Bertha (Bear) Aishman in rural Jackson County, Oklahoma. She grew up on the family farm and graduated high school in Altus, Oklahoma.
Leona was married to Allen Davis on July 22, 1951, in Altus, Oklahoma. To this union were born three sons, Gary, Victor and Michael. Upon graduation from college they began a life long dream of serving people as pastors of a church. They together served churches in Georgia, New Mexico and Colorado. In each church she served as Sunday School teacher of children and/or children's pastor. She was church piano player or organist as needed. Allen says she was without a doubt the best children’s pastor he ever had the privilege of working with. The last several years of active ministry she served as a volunteer secretary to her husband who served as a chaplain in the Colorado DOC.
Besides being a devoted mother to the boys, she loved to cook, sew and entertain guests. In retirement she enjoyed traveling to visit family and sight-seeing across the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, sons Gary and Victor and a granddaughter Claire. She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Allen; son, Michael and wife Desiree; four grandchildren, Stephanye Davis, Brittany Davis, Mary Davis, Alexander Davis; three great grandchildren, Ian Wright, Ethan Wright and Hannah DiFabio, along with many nieces and nephews.
